Camillo Romanino fu uno dei più importanti virtuosi dell’Ottocento ma la sua vita è ancora in gran parte avvolta nel mistero a partire dal cognome esatto. In base ai documenti d’archivio conservati a Torino sappiamo che fu attivo nell’orchestra della Regia Cappella di Torino col nome di Camillo Pellistrandi e in quella del Teatro Regio col cognome Romanino.
Camillo Romanino was one of the most important virtuosos of the nineteenth century but his life is still largely shrouded in mystery starting with the exact surname. Based on archival documents preserved in Turin, we know that he was active in the orchestra of the Royal Chapel of Turin with the name of Camillo Pellistrandi and in that of the Teatro Regio with the surname Romanino.
