Anton Bernhard Fürstenau (1792-1852) fu Il flautista più prominente del Romanticismo tedesco nella prima la metà del XIX secolo. Studiò il flauto con suo padre Gaspar Fürstenau e a sua volta padre ed insegnante di Moritz Fürstenau (1824-1889). Venne nominato flautista principale dell'orchestra di Dresda da Carl Maria von Weber. A.B. Fürstenau scrisse diverse composizioni per il flauto anche se oggi è conosciuto soprattutto per la sua produzione didattica
