Georg Christoph Wagenseil (Vienna, 27 gennaio 1715 – ivi, 1° marzo 1777). È uno dei compositori austriaci del Settecento più importanti. Fu allievo di clavicembalo di A. Weger e nel 1736 fu ammesso nella Scuola di Musica della Capella Imperiale di Vienna dove studiò composizione sotto la guida di J.J. Fux che nel 1739 lo fece nominare compositore di corte.
