Del compositore Johann Friedrich Anton Jansen (? – 1827) abbiamo pochissime informazioni biografiche. Le più dettagliate sono quelle tramandateci da Fétis: «Violinista e pianista, nacque in Germania da genitori danesi. Dopo aver studiato musica a Vienna si recò in Italia e si stabilì prima a Venezia, dove visse miseramente come insegnante di musica. Stanco della precarietà che aveva in questa città, se ne sarebbe andato a Milano nel 1817, dove sembra avere avuto maggiore fortuna.
